Teddyson John, December 17, 1974 Castries, Saint Lucia
He was born into a Christian family whose parents were not musically inclined, but some of his brothers were. During his days at Sir Ira Simmons Secondary School, John began singing and performing in church. “Sweeter” was his first recording before he entered the Soca industry in 2007. Prior to his rise to fame, John worked in the hospitality industry. He worked as an entertainment manager at St Lucia Sandals Resort.
As part of Her Majesty’s Birthday Honors in 2017, John became one of 12 Saint Lucians. He was awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire M.B.E.
