Pinchers

Delroy Thompson  April 12 1965, Kingston, Jamaica.

Before moving to the UK in 1985, he released one album for Blue Trac Records in Jamaica.

In 1986, Pinchers made his first hit with “Borrow No Gun”, released by King Jammy, “Abrakabra”, “Eat Man”, and “Jailhouse Hot”. The single “Agony” from the album of the same name produced by King Jammy made Pinchers famous. Meanwhile, he recorded the Mass Out album, produced by Philip “Fatis” Burrell and backed by Sly & Robbie, Jackie Mittoo, and Robbie Lyn. In 1990, he had another hit, “Bandelero”, which endures as probably his most remembered single and also released the songs “Carpenter”, “Call Upon Mi God”, and “Cross Them Bridge” in 1993.

Two men were killed and Thompson broke two bones in his left arm when he was shot at in Queenborough, Jamaica, in January 2015.
