Caribbean Artist Birthday

Aidonia

Sheldon Lawrence, April 6 1981, Kingston, Jamaica

The artist began playing in 2004 and has released albums on both VP Records and Jag One Productions.

Additionally, Aidonia released a mixtape called Bolt Action in collaboration with Federation Sound, Equiknoxx Music/Jerusalem Music, and Business Class. Aidonia’s mixtape uses classic hip-hop instrumentals with his lyrical melodies overlaying them and features rap artists Chino, Lil Joe, and Govana (formerly Deablo). He was born Sheldon Aitana Ricardo Lawrence in Kingston, Jamaica, the second of four children of a teacher and an ex-soldier. Taking his stage name from the first two letters of his middle name ‘Aitana’, and ‘Donia’, which he earned playing football, he created his stage name.

Aidonia attended Mona Heights Primary and Meadowbrook High. Seeing Beenie Man and Bounty Killer clash in Sting 1993, Aidonia decided to become a deejay. In addition to reenacting the clash for classmates and friends, he wrote his own lyrics and formed the JAG1 (Jah A Guide)(JOP) crew.
