Jahvillani began writing verses when he was a student. Jahvillani is a name he came up with after thinking about balance. As a child, he was heavily influenced by Buju Banton, Vybz Kartel, Mavado and Sizzla, as well as Buju Banton, Vybz Kartel and Shabba Ranks. He also read the book The 48 Laws of Power. Upon graduating from high school in 2011, Jahvillani decided to pursue a career in music and began recording tracks around 2013. The first song he released was “Badda Dan Dem” in 2013. This was produced by St.Ann on the label YGF Records. Jahvillani is best known for his hit singles “Wileside Government,” “Clarks Pon Foot,” “Nuh Reason,” “Weh Dem Ago Do,” and “Rubberband.” Jahvillani is preparing to release his first EP, Dirt To Bentley, in 2018. “First Class Flight,” featuring Prince Swanny, was the first single from the EP to be dropped on Complex in June 2020.
