Slinger Francisco and his father moved to Trinidad when he was only one year old, so he moved there with his mother as a one-year-old. As a child, he began singing and was encouraged to do so by his teachers at Newtown Boys Catholic School, where he sang in the choir. Although he began singing as a young child, he was discouraged from singing calypso. During his teenage years, he formed a steel band comprising neighborhood boys, and he performed with the band at Carnival with them. During his early career, he was referred to as “Little Sparrow” as a result of his energetic performance style. etc
